  of the 50th Anniversary of the Priesting of Women in the Anglican Church 
 of Canada. Come and join us as we give thanks for the many ways women have
  contributed to the life of the Church as presbyters and look to the futur
 e to examine the challenges that lay ahead for women in the Church and Can
 adian society.\nWe look forward to welcoming you to Vancouver Island later
  this year!\nDates: November 24-25\, 2026 \nLocation: Christ Church Cat
 hedral at 930 Burdett Ave.\, Victoria.\nRegistration\nRegistration is now 
 open. Please click HERE to complete the form. Registration for this even
 t will close October 12\, 2026.\nThere is no longer a cap on the number of
  registrants. We look forward to welcoming anyone who would like to be a p
 art of this exciting event. \nThe registration fee is $210.00. Participan
 ts are responsible for making all their own travel and hotel arrangements.
  This includes transportation into Victoria from the airport. We will crea
 te a Facebook page where people can connect to arrange carpooling. \nProg
 ram\nThe event will officially begin at 8:30am on Tuesday\, November 24 at
  Christ Church Cathedral.\nIt will officially end with the celebratory Euc
 harist at Christ Church Cathedral on Wednesday\, November 25. The service 
 will start at 4pm and will be livestreamed.\nMore details about the progra
 m and the service will be shared soon. \nBursaries and funding\nThere is 
 money for bursaries that has generously been made available through grants
  from the Anglican Church of Canada and the Anglican Foundation of Canada.
  An application for bursaries is available HERE. If you are applying for 
 bursary funding\, please do not register until you are notified regarding 
 your application. Applications will be accepted until September 15\, 2026.
  Successful bursary applicants will be notified by September 30\, 2026.\nP
 lease note that we aim to have participation from across Canada which mean
 s travel costs will vary considerably. We respectfully ask that you take a
 dvantage of any continuing education funds or other sources of financial a
 ssistance so that we can use bursary funds to assist people coming from fu
 rther afield as much as possible.\nAccommodation \nWe have negotiated cor
 porate rates with three hotels in the city. Please note that these rates m
 ay change before the event. Please call and let the hotel know that you wa
 nt the corporate rate negotiated by the Diocese of British Columbia for th

 8bf3e9ef24">\nPatti is the rector of the Parish of Mahone Bay\, a semi-rur
 al multi-point parish in the South Shore region of the Diocese of Nova Sco
 tia and Prince Edward Island\, and chancellor of Thorneloe University\, an
  Anglican theological college in Sudbury\, Ontario. \nWhile fairly recent
 ly ordained (deacon 2018\, priest 2019)\, she remembers the excitement of 
 the first ordinations of women in Canada and the first in her home diocese
  of Niagara. While her own sense of call emerged toward the end of high sc
 hool\, she didn’t quite know what to do with it and headed down the path
  of academia\, earning a BA in English at Trent University\, followed by a
 n MA and a PhD from Queen’s.\nShe taught early modern literature at Laur
 entian University in Sudbury for 20 years and did research on sixteenth-ce
 ntury English women writers and the London print market. It was during a s
 abbatical in 2012-13 that God’s call returned very insistently and\, hav
 ing taken a number of theology courses from Thorneloe “for fun\,” she 
 began seminary at the Faculty of Divinity at Trinity College\, Toronto\, w
 hile teaching and raising a teen-aged son.\nAfter ordination in the dioces
 e of Algoma\, she served as deacon associate at Christ Church\, Lively and
  St. John the Divine\, Copper Cliff (2018-19) and then as interim at St. M
 ary\, Nipigon\, where she discovered a love of small-town ministry. She\, 
 her dog\, and two cats moved to Nova Scotia in late 2021. Patti enjoys cho
 ral singing\, cycling\, camping\, and playing the fiddle (as yet) ineptly.
