 Children\, youth\, and adults are all invited! Ever wondered what makes a 
 Scripture reading really come alive? Or found yourself standing at the lec
 tern thinking\, “Please\, God\, let me pronounce this name correctly”?
 \nCome join us for a relaxed\, practical\, and fun workshop on two importa
 nt parts of our Sunday worship: reading Scripture and leading the Prayers 
 of the People.\nWe’ll explore some simple techniques for bringing Script
 ure to life through pace\, pauses\, emphasis\, expression\, and a little b
 it of imagination. You don’t need to be an actor\, and you certainly don
 ’t need a booming “church voice.” In fact\, we’ll discover why som
 etimes the most powerful reading is simply one that sounds like a real hum
 an being who understands what they are saying.\nWe’ll also look at the b
 eautiful ministry of the lay intercessor. What are we actually doing when 
 we lead the prayers? How do we pray on behalf of the whole community? Wher
 e do the prayers come from? And how can we make them thoughtful\, grounded
 \, inclusive\, and connected to the life of the world around us?\nThere wi
 ll be practical resources to take away\, ideas for preparing prayers\, opp
 ortunities to experiment with reading Scripture\, and plenty of permission
  to discover that you already have more ability than you thought.\nNo expe
 rience necessary. No audition. No special church voice required.\nCome and
  discover how a reader or intercessor can help the whole congregation hear
  the Word\, open their hearts\, and bring the needs and hopes of the world
  before God.
