Saul's Conversion (Acts 9:1-19)

May 25th: Let's Get This Straight!
Priscilla, Aquila and Apollos (Acts 18:24-28)

June Theme: Bible Beach Club
Kids will be learning about the beachside miracles of Jesus.  These aren't just extraordinary events; they are signs from God that Jesus is the promised Saviour.  From calming seas to miraculous catches of fish, we'll discover how Jesus' miracles teach us about his divine nature and his mission of salvation.

June 1st: You Caught What?
Bible Story: Luke 5:1-11 (The Miraculous Catch)
Main Idea: Jesus' miraculous catch of fish wasn't just a cool trick; it was a sign of His divine power and His call for us to follow Him, proving He is our Saviour

June 8th: No Sunday School

June 15th: What Wind?
Bible Story: Mark 4:35-41 (Jesus Calms the Storm)
Main Idea: Jesus calms the storm, revealing His power over nature and our fears, affirming that He is the Lord who brings peace to our souls

June 22nd: Will He Float?
Bible Story: Matthew 14:22-33 (Jesus Walks on Water)
Main Idea: Jesus walking on water demonstrates His command over physical laws, a vivid testament to His deity and His ability to help us overcome the seemingly impossible.

June 29th: What’s for Breakfast?
Bible Story: John 21:1-14 (Breakfast on the Beach)
Main Idea: The risen Jesus cooking breakfast on the beach is a profound reminder that He has conquered death, ensuring our eternal life with Him.

Compassion: Mutual Care in Troubled Times

Compassion: Mutual Care in Troubled Times

On May 27–28, 2025 VST will host Compassion: Mutual Care for Troubled Times. Kicking off with a free, public keynote lecture on May 27 at 7pm, this conference is all about engaging with what the spirituality and practice of compassion should look like in our time. There will be presentations from scholars and activists, time for conversations with like-hearted individuals, and an abundance of inter-religious community.

Featured presenters include representatives from Roots/Shorashim/Judur Palestinian-Israeli Network, Marliyn Turkovich (Executive Director of Charter for Compassion), the Interfaith Amigos, and Reggae musicians and filmmakers Pato Banton and Antoinette Rootsdawtah. Dr. Terri Elizabeth Givens, Professor of Political Science at the University of British Columbia and the author of Radical Empathy: Finding a Path to Bridging Racial Divides, will give the keynote lecture. The conference also includes shorter presentations, workshops, and dialogues led by international and local scholars and activists.

All these presentations will be available both in-person and online! You can find the full details here: https://vst.edu/inter-religious-studies-program/conference/

Registration for the conference is $190—but there is a student discount of $100. There is also some funding available if cost is a barrier. Rabbi Laura Duhan-Kaplan (the conference administrator) can be contacted for more information on financial aid (LDKaplan@vst.edu).
