Make A Joyful NoiseChildren and Family Ministry at St. Mary Summer is here, Yahoooooo!! As we close down the Sunday School classes for summer break, we shall make joyful noises inside and out. Remember our Potluck Picnic this coming Sunday the 24th of June. Please do come and join us for games, fellowship and food.
Our little people are still most welcome, and there will be some activities available for them to keep busy with in our classroom during the summer. We are also looking forward to Vacation Bible School, which is returning in August this year. Please mark your calendars for the week of August 13th-17th, and then a special service on Sunday the 19th. If you can lend a hand with this, please consider lending your talents with snack prep, crafts, singing or drama.
With Joy from Jenny and the kids |

National Worship Conference
The diocese is proud to be co-hosting this year’s National Worship Conference. The conference aims to assist us, as people of faith, in responding: liturgically, theologically and ritually to natural disaster (earthquake, fire, flood, hurricane). All of which are increasingly impinging upon our experience; as well as disasters of human making, such as terrorism and violence. Often, in such situations, it is the church that is called upon to give language and song to the emotions people experience. We will bring our rich traditions together and give voice to the unspeakable. For more infomation visit: http://stmarysmetchosin.ca/events/national-worship-conference/2018-07-16

House of GodA limited edition print by Frank Nelson - A gift to St. Mary of the Incarnation from Bishop Logan McMenamie About the Art: The diocese commissioned artist Frank Nelson to create a piece of art reflective of the diocese. Of the print, Frank Nelson wrote:
“Within all First Nations cultures we have been provided with gifts from the Creator. The houses or killer whale, raven, wold and eagle dictate our discipline in life and the demands that the Creator makes of us to maintain integrity, respect, honour and humility. We are not to place ourselves over and above anybody; we are all the same - children of God.
The print can be found in the foyer of St. Mary along with the write up from the Anglican Diocese of B.C.
Thank you to Bishop Logan! |
