This year, St. Mary’s will be following in the footsteps of the disciples on the Day of Pentecost as we baptise Joel Kroeker, and Ed Bennington reaffirms his baptismal vows via immersion.
We will have the Baptism & Eucharist service at Doug Ruth’s farm and Taylor Beach.
- The service will be in Doug’s field by the Taylor Beach parking lot. Note: there are no washrooms.
- There will be some parking available in Doug’s field down by the beach. Additionally folk can carpool from the church. If you would like to carpool, please meet at the church between 9:30 and 9:40. This is will be an informal/ non administered thing. Just show up and see who else does.
- Please bring comfortable lawn chairs for yourself and extras for those who don't own such a thing.
- The weather is predicated to be mostly sunny and about 13-15 degrees in the morning. The wind may be fresh off the water. Please dress appropriately.
- Lynn, Scott (who is assisting), Joel and Ed will go down to the beach and into the water for the baptism and renewal of baptismal vows.
- Our musicians will lead the congregation in song during the baptism.
- The congregation is invited to join us on the beach. Those with mobility issues can remain in the parking lot to watch the baptism.
- After the service we will return to the church for coffee and goodies. Our coffee time folks would welcome some extra help in the kitchen, especially with the clean up afterwards.
