St Mary’s Blackberry Festival 2025
Thanks to all who have been busy picking blackberries over the summer months. We have a good amount frozen and ready for pie baking to commence.
Here’s how you can get involved in supporting this important church fundraiser:
Pie production day is Sept 20th. The team of pie bakers will convene at the church 8.45am for an orientation before production line commences at 9am. Please volunteer if you can, we need a lot of people on the production line.. We hope to be completed around lunch time. This is a fun, high energy day. Lots of friendships flourish over the floury, berry covered tables.
Baking for the bake sale: Alongside the pie sales we will have a bake sale. Please consider preparing cakes, cookies, muffins etc that we can put in the freezer now. This will save baking everything the day before the sale. Baked goods do not have to be blackberry themed – any of your favourite baking! There is plenty of room in the church freezers. We also need a volunteer to receive and set up the bake table on Friday 3 Oct.
Book sale: We will have a book sale. Judy has offered to organize. Please donate any books you are able to.
The big day, October 4th: We still need more volunteers to support the pie sales and in the kitchen with the cobbler sales. 10.30am – 2pm
Tell your friends: We need customers to come and buy the pies and baked goods. Please tell your friends to come and support us on Oct 4th.
