This year, St. Mary’s will be following in the footsteps of the disciples on the Day of Pentecost as we baptise Joel Kroeker, and Ed Bennington reaffirms his baptismal vows via immersion. Please wear red if you have it.

We will have the Baptism & Eucharist service at Doug Ruth’s farm and Taylor Beach. 

• The service will be in Doug’s field by the Taylor Beach parking lot. Note: there are no washrooms.
• There will be some parking available in Doug’s field down by the beach. Additionally folk can carpool from the church. If you would like to carpool, please meet at the church between 9:30 and 9:40. This is will be an informal/ non administered thing. Just show up and see who else does.
• Please bring comfortable lawn chairs for yourself and extras for those who don't own such a thing.
• The weather is predicated to be mostly sunny and about 13-15 degrees in the morning. The wind may be fresh off the water. Please dress appropriately and maybe bring a blanket.
• Lynn, Scott (who is assisting), Joel and Ed will go down to the beach and into the water for the baptism and renewal of baptismal vows.
• Our musicians will lead the congregation in song during the baptism.
• The congregation is invited to join us on the beach. Those with mobility issues can remain in the parking lot to watch the baptism.
• After the service we will return to the church for coffee and goodies. Our coffee time folks would welcome some extra help in the kitchen, especially with the clean up afterwards.

The fourth Sunday of each month, we bring a bit of food for the potluck, and maybe a spiritual question that a few people over a leisurely supper can discuss safely together.  People decide what the topic[s] will be, so each table is unique.   Part of the fun is that we don't know who we will join, what we will discuss, or what we will eat.   

The doors are open by 5:30, and we try to start the meal at 6:00 [Metchosin time] and finish by 8:00.  

No reservation needed.

The Junior Youth Group (grades 5-8) meet on the first Friday of the month.  We play games, go bouldering, go to sports games, play sports, watch movies - nothing is off the table.  Primarily we are about building community, and ultimately paying attention to our relationship with God through Jesus.  (We tend to be light on religion and heavy on fun.)

Everyone is welcome to Messy Church.  Join us for dinner and family focused fun for kids, including crafts, music, story time, games, etc.

FoodSafe training is very important for any member of St. Mary's who prepares food in our kitchen, whether that's Messy Church, Christmas Dinners, Potlucks, Blackberry Festival, or even Sunday Coffee Time.

The certification is good for five years.
